Gone racing!

Off to the nags at Newbury today, provided the frost hasnt got into the ground.Meeting up with Stephen Little, legendary rails bookie (ret'd) who will be burning up the course with his own brand of personal trading. That should keep us all warm in the reflected success. Any bright ideas from the racing cognoscenti of the Sports Exchange? Sure winners preferred, dead certs an alternative, virtual prizes will be awarded for successful tips, how can you resist?May go again tomorrow if the budget…See More

QI in South Bermondsey: "no-one likes us and we dont care"

Stephen Fry described his visit to Millwall FC on Tuesday evening as "on a dangerous adventure" when tweeting to his adoring followers. My Man in the (directors') Box, Craig, reports a pleasant encounter with the Norwich City board member during a low-key draw which passed off without anything dangerous on or in The New Den. The Lions v The Canaries, sounds a dangerous mis-match to me [no 'led by Donkeys' quips, thank you very much - Ed].Craig had a busy night urging the Matchbet in-stadium…See More

What's up at The Sports Exchange?

Exciting changes are planned for The Sports Exchange as we near our 2nd anniversary. The founders, me and J2O (the soft drink gambler of great renown previously known as J2E) have been much occupied with our other ventures: J2O on his sports cafe in Pangbourne "The Ditty"; and me on a stem cells pharmaceutical development programme.

Neither lend…

The Gambler's winning bet on the Ditty, Pangbourne's Sports Cafe

More stirrings from the Thames riverbank.

Your correspondent sampled Boeuf Bourguignon at the DITTY Sports Cafe in Pangbourne today, a dish that brought the sight and smell of  true French cuisine to this smart commuter-belt fleshpot.

John Tuohy's new boutique gastropod rightly basked in long-awaited March sunshine as his top chef, Mo, finessed his personal take on this classic French peasant dish from Burgundy - warming up ahead of the Ditty's French evening later…

Sex and the Footie

See some serious reaction to the sex discrimination row on the box last night. Heather Rabbatts weighed in with effect and authority, she must have seen it all in and around her time at Millwall - bet they dont stand any nonsense!

'Sexist dinosaurs' sounds about right - have you seen the Times' photo of the luckless pair?

Btw, my old friends at FootieChick, sports kit for the fairer sex (no discrimination there, m'lud) seem to have slimmed down their operation, big shame if so,…

What's next -jock strap?

Just seen a VERY convincing Andy Murray win his 3rd round at Melbourne 1, 1, and 2. Good news, he looked strong, fast, active and efficient, what a change!

But then, the ritualistic 'tossing of the extras' to the adulating tennis crowd: two sweaty wrist-bands, a headband, and there was something else... towel, maybe, or a furry comforter? Who knows - who cares - what next?
Oh, and a ball was skied into the stalls; spare seats, nearest spectator struggled to recover ball,…

Hi Gordon, I'm glad to see that there is some interest in the PowerTable, we have a number of UK users but frankly greater interest outside the UK. The prediction service is published in papers in SE Asia, where are launching a new mobile service for the new season. The web site will be revised and simplified for the coming season. Last season the success rate on simple betting was 60% overall and some prediction rates upto 85%. I would be interested in hearing success stories from users.
