The inside track for those who need to know
More stirrings from the Thames riverbank.
Your correspondent sampled Boeuf Bourguignon at the DITTY Sports Cafe in Pangbourne today, a dish that brought the sight and smell of true French cuisine to this smart commuter-belt fleshpot.
John Tuohy's new boutique gastropod rightly basked in long-awaited March sunshine as his top chef, Mo, finessed his personal take on this classic French peasant dish from Burgundy - warming up ahead of the Ditty's French evening later this month.
A glass of J2E's skilfully-selected vin rouge du patron complemented this repast (£7.95 large enough for two!). The extensive menu is available from 10am - well, not exactly, boeuf bourguignon is hardly a breakfast dish, but you know what I mean.
Drop into the Ditty and you will be warmly welcomed - anytime - any day - WIFI, licensed, owner on site...what more could you want!
