The inside track for those who need to know

I heard on web radio the other day that because he is so classy, Denman is probably good "value" at 4/1 for this race, even under the burden of 12 Stone.
"The last classy jumper to manage 12 Stone was Burrough Hill Lad, under an expert ride from John Francome" said the commentator....I remember the race, and he won well, his nearest rivals received a few pounds at least from him.
But....
Arkle won the Henessy in 1964 and 1965, under 12 Stone 7 Lbs, and giving nearly 2 Stones to all his rivals.
Won comfortably.

So much for the pundits proclaiming "best horse ever" on an annual basis. Sure, Denman and Kauto Star are good horses, but nowhere NEAR the same league as "Himself". I doubt that I'll ever see a horse within 14 lbs of him. If I do, I'll let you know!.......

More horses, must be something to do with Cheltenham. And this 'online Weetabix' stuff, whats that all about?
Newbury (Henessy) not Cheltenham.
Well.....we all know that horses like oats. Few realise that they are also partial to Polo mints, and Weetabix.
So, if you want Mr Ed to give you a long-priced winner, butter him up with plenty of the aforementioned.
QED
QED, eh? Alternative theorem: Wheat, maybe? Oats is what the Scawtsman carries in his sporran to keep the nether regions warm...

Good luck with the Newbury Henessy - cold as the grave our here today.
I'm not on Denman or anything else (yet)
Looking at the Queen's horse - seems well handicapped. Good as Denman may be, once they've gone wrong like he did, they can always go wrong again. Usually when my hard-earned is in their saddlecloth, so I try to avoid that.
......And he's definitely not in the same league as Himself.
Well done Denman. I had a small interest on the Queen's horse, so at least got a "shout".
Very feudal - tip the winner but back the sovereign's horse.

At least you kept clear of the football magnate's nag, did he go to the races or chew on regardless on the touchline, one wonders.

Seriously though, what an amazing achievement for Denman, up again for Cheltenham: the entire space for racing [never much of that - Ed] in The Sunday Times today devoted to him.

[Advertiser's note: two 'N's in Hennessy, if you please]
Once, in a drunken stupor - entirely the fault of Hennessy - I stubbed my toe; so now I deliberately mis-spell their brand name as a reminder to them and me of the wrath I hold for the subversive effects of their (decidedly tasty, I admit) potion.

Next, you'll be asking why I never use a capital letter on one brand name - betfair......
And why I always try to remember to use a capital letter on one key physical parameter - Time.
But do not confuse deep-rooted disgust and animosity with eccentricity.........
