Didnt want to ask, but now I know: Weetabix is revealed. I'm a Crunchy Nut man, myself. But Weetabix has become the current measure of 'real' value - unlike the Mars bar which, as we all know, has shrunk almost out of sight. Doesnt cut the mustard...

Barney Frank rides again

You cant say you dont hear it here first!

In my Blog Post on 8th May, I reported:

"Say thank you to the nice Barney Frank
Who he? you ask. Well, he's a Yank, hence the silly name. He is also the chairman of the House financial services committee. He is bringing in legislation to legalise internet gambling in the US ...."

Well, he's still at it and reported continued efforts yesterday; good on yuh, Barney!

How's the Betfair float getting on?

One topic guaranteed to stir the members of The Sports Exchange into putting e-pen to paper is the single word Betfair. John 2E, due back from his little rest in a week or two, has a long trail of fair comments on the Betfair scenario, and always generates real interest all round.

Adonis, too, has been heard to raise the odd public interest point here.

Press comment says the float is due soon, any bets on opening value of the company - various comments in the £2billion area. Anyone start a boo… Continue

John Tuohy - latest bulletin

Better news from the J2E bedside, but he's clearly had a dreadful time. Louise rang last night to say she hopes he will be home by Christmas.

He's had three bouts of pneumonia and has been in intensive care for several weeks but coming out of that in a few days time, she expects. He's had a good week and seems to be firmly on the mend at last.

He was very encouraged by the various messages from friends on The Sports Exchange (which Louise reads to him, he isnt fit enough to work the airwaves y… Continue

FootballMad, the gibbering Tipster

I bring you a sad bulletin from the stable of Matchbet's Premiership Tipster, FootballMad: barely able to conceal his emotion, our hero faced the cameras at 'Bonkers', his crazy HQ amongst the glades of academe in leafy north Oxford, and issued the following statement:

8th October 2009

Matchbet asked Footballmad about his recent run of results:

"I am afraid last week was a disaster. Beyond that, it is now pretty clear that this season's football patterns are an entirely new phenomenon,

John Tuohy

We've all missed John's contributions to the Sports Exchange over the past few weeks.
I'm afraid John is unwell and is resting up in hospital. There have been complications so his stay is proving longer and more critical than originally hoped. I dont have any more info but I will pass on anything I hear from Louise.
I know we all wish him a speedy and successful recovery and that he will be back amongst us pretty soon.

Thanks for the note. I'll tell Jason you said hi! We're ramping up with the site now and I'm just looking around to see what's going on in the industry.

Hi Gordon, I'm glad to see that there is some interest in the PowerTable, we have a number of UK users but frankly greater interest outside the UK. The prediction service is published in papers in SE Asia, where are launching a new mobile service for the new season. The web site will be revised and simplified for the coming season. Last season the success rate on simple betting was 60% overall and some prediction rates upto 85%. I would be interested in hearing success stories from users.
