I wrote a brilliant, informative, probing and topical discussion piece about - oh, does it matter, its lost in the e-ther; erased in error when I was called to answer the 3rd phone line in the house and nudged the wrong button. I was going on about the importance of inconsequential chatter in the social media forums.

We miss John Tuohy, was the gist of it. He is the co-founder of this site and his absence is much missed; we hope he'll be back again, e'er long. His population on The Gambler (www.john2e.typepad.com) are still there, waiting for his unique blend of domestic trivia, personal ramblings, and sporting insight.

He has a huge following; and our own band of stalwarts are keeping the sporting ethos running, notably Sports Punter and Richard Stoddart from BetCatalyst.

Expect more info from our in-house betting exchange MATCHBET and regular philosophical ramblings from me , in my off-duty moments. Features about the betting market, personalities, dramas, revelations and exposes from the home team and our Twitter correspondents on politics, Life, chicanery and the rest.
