The inside track for those who need to know

Every thread on the BF Forum mentioning the great Harry Findlay is quickly zapped into the ether. Lots of talk about his relations or lack of with his partner Mr Bloom.

This is getting to be a big story now as no-one is allowed to even hint at what is going on. For such a supposed good bloke and one of us Harry don't half wield the censor's sword.

Would Terry Ramsden have been the same if he was playing large nowadays?

IMHO betfair are paranoid that something on their forum (now THERE'S an oxymoron!) will impact their regular stream of inbound money. The stuff that goes in and never comes out.
Any form of discussion about any (wealthy) person's business is BOUND to arouse the interest of their blue-pencil wielders - of whom they have many.
If the censorship threat doesn't do the trick, they bar the problem Customer.
If that causes him/her to migrate to places where they can't be silenced, their account is closed.

One wonders what the old Monopolies and Mergers Committee would have done to right the wrongs......IMHO betfair is a virtual monopoly, and much in need of slapping into conformity to acceptable standards of Customer treatment.
Adonis
Maybe their most high profile punter who takes every opportunity to promote them is not quite what he seems. Can they seriously suppress this information much longer. A very clever man would surely not give them all this free publicity for nothing. I think they keep exending the credit and its a form of seeding your own markets.
Some might say that there are many ways to skin a cat, but I couldn't possibly comment.
BUT I CAN LAUGH AT THEIR INFANTILE BEHAVIOUR LOLOLOLOLOL !!!!!!!
PS: Don't hold your breath waiting for Da Regulator (da management, remember the comedy show?) to get interested. Unless, of course, he can smell a good lunch cooking....
Adonis, you are not on BF so could you repeat that in understandable prose please
"many ways to skin a cat" - an objective can be reached via several, usually indirect routes. In the case of betfair, some might indeed think that a satisfactory strategy to seed markets might be to give credit to a wealthy client so that he does it for them. If losses are made, they might be written off?
"Infantile behaviour" - "If you won't let me be Captain, I'll take my bat and ball home"....
Either Clientele can play THEIR game, or play NO GAME....virtual monopoly.
"lololol" - reference to twisted tongue (left-handed helix)
Da Regulator - maybe The Gambling Commission, or the Competition Commission?
"da Management" - night club bouncer sketches, Hale and Pace show of the -90's.
"smell a good lunch cooking" - thinly-veiled reference to my belief that most or all Quango officers (GC, CC ASA, FSA etc) have a huge talent for detecting when they may be invited (at someone else's expense) to lunch or dinner......

Hope that helps.
Thank you very much Mr Adonis. Indeed if they give Mr Findlay that sort of credit and he wins off other customers then it dont even cost them a bean. Alternatively if he just lumps on some short priced things as he has done all his life then it's more difficult....
Racing Post today, this helps clear the muddy waters a bit?:
Findlay and Bloom call time on partnership
By David Carr7.26AM 9 SEP 2009

HARRY FINDLAY on Tuesday night announced a split with fellow owner Tony Bloom to signal the end of a brief but high-profile partnership marked with distinction by Royal Ascot winner High Standing.

Confirmation of the split comes less than six months after the pair celebrated their first winner and was described last night by Findlay as due to Bloom's increasing business commitments.

High Standing, who added to his win inthe Wokingham with victory in the Group 3 Hackwood Stakes and a third in last Saturday's Group 1 Betfred Sprint Cup, is to become the sole property of Bloom.

Findlay, part-owner with Paul Barber of 2008 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Denman, said: "Most of our horses are entered in the sales and we'll be dissolving the partnership at the end of the season."
Strange no discussion on BF about this and its going to end up one of the biggest human interest stories in racing this year.
