The inside track for those who need to know

No racing on the jellyvision today! Farcical - some nice fields and great weather, so why no Sport of Kings on the box? Never mind. I'll just have a small wager and leave it until this evening to see how much I've won. LOL.

Jimmy Quinn was my old ballroom coach and Jimmy Fortune is riding Master of Dance in the 1.30 Goodwood today so this has to be my nap of the week: MASTER OF DANCE 1.30 Gdwd.

Actually, this horse does have a pretty decent chance after his debut over 5 furlongs. That was a class 3 event and today he's in a class 5 and over 6 furlongs, so fingers crossed.

In the lucky last at Goodwood it seems to me that Cossack Prince 5.30 Gdwd has a good chance of another win at this course and he will certainly be at home in this class 5 race. Goes well for Ian Mongan and the only drawback is that his price is not going to be my usual longshot. If I can get 9-4 or 5-2 I'll be happy enough, but more like 7-4 to 2-1 is top whack I reckon.

It's patently obvious that one needs three selections for a patent. (Somebody once told me I should be on the stage! Sweeping it, probably...). So, although it's likely to be a firm favourite I'm going for Kingdom of Fife in the Zetland Gold Cup - 3.55 Redcar. Trained by Sir Michael Stoute and with Ryan Moore on board, this is likely to be red hot for this excellent race. It's no walkover of course but KINGDOM OF FIFE will be my hopeful third choice of today.

MASTER OF DANCE 1.30 GOODWOOD
KINGDOM OF FIFE 3.55 REDCAR
COSSACK PRINCE 5.30 GOODWOOD

Right, that's it: I'm investing £3.50 by way of a 50p win patent and to make it up to a round £4 I'll have a 25p ew treble the same three. Don't laugh. Oh well, go on then - have a good guffaw, it's good for the soul - so I'm assured.

Have a good Bank Holiday and hope the sun keeps shining for all.

Cheers, Phil

King of Fife obliged at 9-4 but the other two flopped like a dodgy soufflé! Still, never mind - I'll just back them singly in future and stop at a winner! :-)))

Cheers Philip.

Win or lose it provides a bit of interest for us all.
