I think you were unlucky.

Also I thought Barelona had more than 53% possesion, but I am not sure how theywork all this out.

Small loss of 5pts, made up at 53.

Fancied Barca to win but never thought they would grab an early goal, and as soon as it went in i turned to the wife and said it was game over, and so with it i felt the bet.

I got it totally wrong in the first 7 minutes, Man Utd went for them, and then when they conceded it meant they would need more possession to try and create chances and as such Barca wouldnt feel the need to dominate until they were pegged which never happened.

I felt the reasoning for placing the bet was well enough thought out, but i got it wrong from the start, ah well onwards and hopefully upwards.

Hope you all made money

Hi John,

One thing i have noticed in the past is that the teams from England who play Barca, are quite happy letting them have the possession rather than compete too hard for it and leave the chance that they will gift space at the back.

For me the value tonight lies with Sporting Index and a buy of Barca possession minutes at 58.

If you look at their last 4 games against English opposition the stats are as follows.

Barca v Man Utd (semi last year 1st leg) 72.8%
Man Utd v Barca (semi last year 2nd leg) 62.4%
Barca v Chelsea (semi this year 1st leg) 70.5%
Chelsea v Barca (semi this year 2nd leg) 70.9%

Recently also, Man Utd at home against Arsenal in the 0-0 draw Arsenal had 61%, and even at home in the recent derby game against Man City they could only muster 47%.

They seem well set up for me to let Barca have the ball, and try the swift counters.

Either way Barca are 1/7 to have more possession, so the downside looks minimal if the bookies price is to be believed, and i think a buy at 58% is the way to go.
