Bit of a disaster for FootballMad's 10 from the Premiership. Bit of a steward's enquiry on why the researched past results are not being borne out this season. Is it a sea-change and past form is no indicator; or is it a simple statistical glitch that will right itself next time.
Anyhow, whip round in the office to re-stake the Raving Loonie, and he'll be ranting on again this Saturday, aiming to restore his reputation.

From such a low start point, cant we tempt other Tipsters into the ring to show how they can do so much better?

The Gods smile upon us and the last match of the weekend Premiership stuff redeemed our tipster with a projected 3-1 win for ManCity! Phew...Overall outcome beyond my simple arithmetic powers but I now see that our Algorithmic Analyst has done the math - not great, due to the high scoring anomalies from drastic team and management changes - destroyed the even tempo of history, ah well, there you go.

Sin miedo, Amigos! as Wigan's manager might say, there are lies, damn lies and Statistics. Statistics have been shown woefully inadequate in forecasting results on the Premiership , our resident Tipster has found unhappily this weekend.

With one game to go tonight, only 3/9 have hit the forecast range of results, whilst 4 games show wildly higher scores than history suggested. Trends seem to have held up - home/away wins stand up in the main.

But what this experience shows is that there is a need for the tipster to exercise heavy-handed intervention in assessing current form, big cash spent on new players and so on. Only leaves ManCity/WHam tonight - forecast 2-0,2-1,3-1 might be a bit light after Arsenal's experience a fortnight ago!

***Roll up, roll up, new Tipsters wanted***
