The inside track for those who need to know

Glorious Sunday morning here in The Chilterns. We have sport today. Mainly tennis and cricket. Murray and England. Other than that we are spoilt for choice. Jobs to do in the garden. Washing out on the Line already. Salmon taken out of freezer for BBQ later. More jobs to do shortly. It's been raining overnight but the hedge could do with a trim and the grass needs raking. Busy busy busy.

Tomorrow Mrs. G is off sailing in Southampton. Business rather than pleasure, and I am off to Oxford with Gordon to meet up with Matchbet. Check out their website:- http://www.matchbet.com/ :- Comments welcome.

Then tomorrow night WIndsor races:- we shall see. Weather permitting it is a possibilty.

But what a week of sport next week? England v West Indies 5pm Monday or Windsor races for the outdoor types.

Tuesday 5 days of Royal Ascot. 2020 cricket throughout the week culminating in Finals at the weekend. European U21 Football finals. Might be worth catching to pick up rising stars. I think the first game on TV is England v Finland Monday 5pm.

Throw in some Tennis from Eurosport. Watch but don't trade. Thursday sees the start of the US Open Golf live on Sky from 3pm. Tiger to win, but Casey at 33-1 might be worth a little each-way patriotic interest. Will be good to have some proper golf on TV again. More bits and pieces, rugby etc... and then the big one The Lions v South Africa First Test at Saturday lunchtime.

Exhausted just thinking about it. Let's have some comments or better still some mini-blogs on this wonderful week of sport ahead. Betting/Trading Opportunites? And let us have some sunshine to go with it, so in quiet moments we can potter around the garden for an hour or two, and fire up that BBQ for a taste of the good life. Bye for now. Comments welcome.

Nothing excites me more than watching two finely tuned athletes knocking a ball backwards and forwards to each other…. What kind of wife is Mrs. G with her Running & Sailing etc. I don’t know how you manage to keep up with her John.

Temperature rises just reading this fantastic banquet of sporting delicacies. And to help it down, what better than a gently chilled bottle of rose. Our in-house expert recommends Vistamar Rose from Chile: "juicy and fresh, this is fine gentle and delicate, the perfect summer rose" from The Naked Grape (www.thenakedgrape.co.uk)
Through this summer of sport, we will have a steady flow of bibulous suggestions to suit the sporting climate. Watch out for the champagne selections over the Ascot meeting.
