Its a Long Day with SportsPunter

Not so much the River Bank, more the Thames Valley. After news of John2E, the riverside Sage of Pangbourne and betting shop promoter, we bring you another personality from the Valley of the great Thames river:

Betting-on-Thames

You can scarcely move on the riverbank these days for betting folk. Not so much Mole, Rat and Badger gathering around Toad Hall fending off the Stoats and Ferrets; more the local patriarch, 'Onest John 2E, your friendly local bookie, and his cohort of slick, young(ish) sales and marketing experts.…

More Wazza...

I was going to start further observations on the Amazing Incident of the Reluctant Footballer. However, as Wazza and Fergie have reached an accommodation, and are Best Mates again, I will save myself the trouble of writing it, and you, dear Reader, the trouble of reading it.

Well that's all right then. Potential energy preserved, no trees felled, rain forests preserved, just nice time for me to snuck into the butler's pantry for a quick sharpener. We dont yet…

'Search and ye shall find'

The powerful search facility we employ here at The Sports Exchange has an astonishing 9 pages of links to BETFAIR, the exchange the punters love to hate. There has been a tradition of betfair-bashing amongst the membership here, cant understand why.

Maybe someone can blog in and tell us?

Ostrich-skin boots and Liverpool FC

Please can someone explain to me what a bunch of Texas lawyers in ostrich-skin boots have to do with the High Court of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

This unwelcome and extra-jurisdictional intervention is damagingly frustrating the outcome of a commercial deal in the UK, entirely active within the UK and with agreements written in the UK under the…

Blog early, blog often

As the autumn mornings dawn darker and generally less inviting, abandon the early morning jog and and start the day with a spirited clearing of the frontal lobes - shake the brain cells into action - dust off the sluggish thoughts from last night - and pen a few lines on The Sports Exchange pages.

Incentives and PRIZES are…

Economic contrasts next week

Next week heralds two hugely contrasting economic events:

Wed 20th: the coalition's Comprehensive Spending Review sets the seal on Austerity for years to come; and then

Fri 22nd: final pricing set for the Betfair IPO and first dealings.

The amazing…

Honest team sports at last

What a joy to see a world-class contest - its the GOLF, stupid - conducted without the entire commentary dedicated to CHEATING, CHICANERY, SPOILING, FUDGING and FRAUD.

Good for the Ryder Cup teams and organisers. Golf is not seen as a team game: feast on this and rejoice!

What a lesson to the self-servers and diddlers of football, cricket and other 'team' sports...
