Throw the formbook out of the window, this is the time of year when the price of a horse should never put you off.
Flat races are now full of runners who have gone past their peak. Their main targets of the summer long gone they now start falsely short. Lurking somewhere in the race are a few horses that have gone under the radar for most of the season and who are 'peaking' at the right time.
NH races, on the otherhand, are full of runners from top stables whose targets are later down the line. Amongst their rivals are horses from lesser stables being prepared for an early season tilt at the ring.
Both situations lead to bigger priced winners, certainly more than any other time of year save for the inverse - end of NH season and beginning of the Flat.
Any opinions?
