Matchbet

I have noticed that Matchbet has just got a new release, I found their online tutorial pretty cool, like their bespoke betting, and, if rumours are right they will be announcing a jv with a huge gaming partner in Brazil. Seems like a really interesting offering now.

3.25 Goodwood, Totesport Mile - disected

Some amazing 10 year stats stats for this race:

9/10 drawn 16 or higher

Rated 87 - 103

8/10 either four or five-year-olds

This leaves us with just one for our shortlist - EXTRATERRESTRIAL. He's not totally well handicapped, he's 2lb higher, even taking into account his rider's claim, than his highest ever winning mark, but given the form of the Fahey stable and his belting draw, as well as being able to handle the ground, it should be enough to… Continue

2.10 Goodwood - disected

Lets take a look at the stats over the last ten years:

8/10 placed last time

Rated between 87 and 101

Invariably a high draw

I've managed to get the race down to (best price):

Sopranist 14-1

Mirrored 4-1

Set The Trend 11-1

Roman Republic 5-1

Sandor 20-1

Of the five I like the look of Sandor at 20-1 e/w as a value bet and the 26s on Betfair should give us a trading position given that he's drawn 16/16 and that Peter Makin has… Continue

Always Bold 2.10 Goodwood - quick get on! Been some interesting support

When Donald McCain's horses get backed they are usually on the ball. Always Bold has come in for some decent money and is currently being well supported at 17.5 to back. Even this price should give us some room for manouvre in-running. He looks like he could have been laid out for this having ran at Royal Ascot on his debut and then stormed home in second last time out at Catterick. Those two runs should have put him spot on for this and I'm backing to lay in-running.

Hannover v Arsenal.

Friendly tonight. Not sure if it is live on Tv, but you can watch on the internet. Matchebet have a market on it, so have a look. http://www.matchbet.com/

Arsenal and Reading fans might also like to know that we have a big charity match in Reading on Sunday lunchtime. Kick off 2.30pm. Gates open from about 10am.

Ex Arsenal v ex Reading raising money for a charity cancer. Lots of top players turning out, and I might even take my boots for a cameo/comedy appearance for 5… Continue

Come on Boys and Girls,

I see the membership has risen to 85. Excellent. The quality of the debate on the site and the chatroom has been excellent as well.

Can you all do me a favour. Email your friends/colleagues/sporting/gambling/business/social associates and invite them to join. No cost involved. I want to get the membership up to 100 and get that chatroom buzzing/beeping.

I would really appreciate if you can spare a few minutes out of your day to help me achieve this small… Continue

bookies lose Turf TV legal fight 28/07/2009

http://www.egrmagazine.com/news/industry/254512/william-hill-ladbrokes-other-bookies-lose-turf-tv-legal-fight.thtml

Could this have something to do with the disappearance of live horse racing odds on teletext today. Maybe just a coincidental malfunction.

3rd test

They have decided upon Bell and we all hope he bat’s a lot better than he has done in his last two innings. It will be interesting to see the bowling selections but I suggest this may be left until the last minute when they have seen how much grass is on the wicket and what sort of weather conditions are expected. If it is a dry wicket with not a lot of grass on it we may have both spinners playing, however I suggest the weather conditions will take precedence and harmy will replace onions. It… Continue

Single market - phut!

Protectionism rules OK in the great European family of nations [no, come on now, how many times do I have to tell you, its Member States now - Ed]. Have a look at this from The Economist, a reliable international source: http://tinyurl.com/nbeuhq.
So online stuff strictly limited, thought it was just the Yankee Doodlers, but its obviously the whole caboodle. Watch this space for more info on our international buddies.

Chantilly.

Live on RUK for free at the moment.

Idle Chatter is the selection, and the favourite should be laid.

Well that is what they are saying on RUK, and that is good enough for me. Owned by Michael Tabor, ridden by Gerald Mosse, son of Galilieo, trained by John Hammond. Not bad racing for a Monday.

Fishing for Fish?

Sorry if anybody thought that this was an inside track but I saw that BF have fishing on the exchange and as a lover of fresh water fishing I wondered if anyone had caught an angle? (pun intended)

Should Phil Taylor Be Banned?

After helping televised darts reach unprecedented levels of popularity, is there a danger that Phil Taylor could end up being the sport's downfall? The guy is head and shoulders above every other player in the sport and although I can appreciate his professionalism and absolute brilliance, I can't help but feel disappointment when I see his name on the fixture list!

His matches are often hugely one sided and his price of 1.04 prior to the final of the Stan James World matchplay is… Continue

Power Table

As a new member, thought members might be interested in PowerTable (http://www.catalystuk.com), a specialist stite providing Premiership football match results. I have found a way to use their tables to create a trading strategy that I used last year, most successful in my gambling career. Using their stuff, I am able to create underpriced results, and that now that Matchbet (www.matchbet.com) seem to get their act together, I can trade these positions directly on Matchbet (e.g. 2-1 or 3-1 or… Continue

Charity Football Match 2nd August.

FORMER Reading and Arsenal players are to meet in a memorial match at Reading Town’s ground next month.

Adie Williams, Mick Gooding, Jimmy Quinn and Michael Gilkes have already expressed an interest in playing for the old Royals.

Reading heavyweight boxer Michael Sprott is set to add some extra punch to the side.

And the squad will be boosted by Radio Berkshire presenter Tim Dellor and getreading columnist Ben Rice.

The match is being played at Reading Town’s ground in… Continue

Commission on Betting Exchanges

Following a great chat a couple of days ago with Jason Trost of Smarkets.com (check the chat feature bottom right to join in), I thought I'd open the floor to suggestions on how exchanges should make their money. Do they sick with a commission system with points, membership fees, some sort of flat fee, reward losers ?

Jason mentioned that they were still discussing the merits of different ideas on this, now might be your chance to influence them before they launch. I have to say I… Continue

Fulford 6.15 Doncaster - possible trading position @ 40-1 Totesport

Available at a standout 40-1 with Totesport, Fulford, trained by Mel Brittain, looks like he has conditions to suit and as such could be liable to be backed today. The fact he's booked Adrian Nicholls is eyecatching - he's a no-nonsense jockey who doesn't try to be too clever in sprint races. He's got a canny draw in 15 and comes here fresh having last run in April. Given the Brittain stables record of gambles the 40-1 could give us a canny position. Bet365 might know something -… Continue
