World Champion joins The Sports Exchange

Latest member of this eclectic gathering of sports enthusiasts is John Ward, World Champion of the Seniors' Real Tennis fraternity. John will find that our discussions centre around the trading opportunities provided by football, cricket, tennis and racing. But our new Betting Exchange is founded on a Real Tennis model and you will feel quite at home.

Many of our members - and the thousands of visitors to the site each month - will be phone and computer users and M-Line Telecoms will be a… Continue

Hascot 'Ats and Bubbles!

Chaps seem to be wearing their hats big this year. W Carson is even less visible beneath a giant black job [now, now, we're a multi-ethnic blog post - Ed]. The Morecambe & Wise style seems to be in vogue, beware sunburn on the exposed for'ead. Top hats are like flat caps - the shape should fit the face; these shiny black numbers are build for big round faces (cue John Parrott); we more slender folk need a sleeker model.

Now BUBBLES. Today's selection for the opening day of the… Continue

Our adverts from Mr Google

You will have noticed the ads on the right hand column of this/each page, provided by our old, ubiquitous friend Mr Google. Today, they all seem to be sports betting related. Hurrah, its taken a while but Mr G's spy-on-the-page has at last 'clicked' on what we are all up to.

If you follow any ad, and then buy anything, it will hasten the day that we hard-working toilers in Blog HQ start to see a revenue contribution. And if we really get the membership up, we can kick Mr G off the site and… Continue

Loyal Greetings to HRH

A rousing chorus of the National Anthem just now prompts The Sports Exchange to send that great sportsman HRH Prince Philip many happy returns of the day on his **th birthday. A while back, I read he owned the largest number of racing greyhounds (quoted in the prospectus for the Hackney track, I think).

Need to know: our sister sites

You may find it hard to believe, but there are more sites like The Sports Exchange out there, with their own members and enthusiasms. One such is Test Law, a pilot for professional law firms and the like. Its under trial at the moment but if you have a passing interest in matters legal, knock on the door at: www.testLaw.ning.com.

They will be clamouring to join the Exchange, here is what appeared on the Law site today:

Tennis Trading, now that summer's here...

We wait with bated breath for the definitive pronouncement on TENNIS TRADING from J2O, the celebrated T-Total sage of the turf. Serious effect on bets if the Queens of Barons Court move from the grass to indoors. Watch this space for the inside track on trading the SOFT YELLOW BALL.

I commented a while back about the custom of watering the Derby course to achieve a 'standard' going. I then heard that there were runners who performed better when there was 'cut in the turf' or some… Continue

Betting on political 'dead certs'

Despite the late arrival of the J2E Blog of the Day, we're still here, everyone's zonked out with the 3 day heatwave (that's quite enough of the weather, thank you - Ed).

A baker's dozen signed up for our social media event in the City on Friday; did we offer this to our valued members on the Sports Exchange, maybe not, look out for the next one in a week or two.

Politically, J2E's rant at MPs has resulted in Gordo Bruun teetering on the edge of the political Beachy Head.… Continue

Where's our hero's offering for today,Tues 2nd June, we cry? John - your public clamours for your guidance. Your correspondent hears that J2E is 'under the doctor' but fighting back. I can offer no sporting advice, but have a look at our sister blog at http://john2e.typepad.com/my_weblog.

This will give you an impassioned view of The Gambler's personal approach to abuse and dissembling in public life. What a bunch of diddlers and… Continue
