Mainly Football. Man Utd v Man City. Arsenal v Chelsea. Looks like two home wins to me. But we shall see.

Spanish Grand Prix on at noon. Button to win again. And The Italian Open. Maybe Jaquelin may end up winning.

That's it for now.

Say thank you to the nice Barney Frank

Who he? you ask. Well, he's a Yank, hence the silly name. He is also the chairman of the House financial services committee. He is bringing in legislation to legalise internet gambling in the US and has cross-party support though the Vegas operators see it as a threat.

Barney (or is it Frank) who is a dead ringer of Geoffrey Howe at the 'savaged by a dead sheep' stage, has lost some local cred by asking, as chairman of the financial services committee, why 'subordinated debt' is called… Continue

Cricket Trading on the Test, and other fascinating insights

Have a read of the Forum Discussion on Cricket trading, just click on 'Forum' in the navigation bar above. Its a bumper delivery from that old bowler (you've guessed it) John 2E. Because the 1st Test looks like ending several days early, we have posted the whole article today.

Higgins won the snooker.

And I think there was some racing at Newmarket. Shows how out of touch I am with horse racing. The Guineas were run over the weekend, and I did not even realise.

Our advertising policy

There are some faintly relevant ads down the right hand side of this page. These are provided by the Google Boys who peer into our activities and discussions and generate ads that they deem topical, appropriate, lawful and useful. There's one for PayDayBank that strikes a chord and marginally more use to me than its neighbour 'Brain Meditation Secrets' - you will see from my little 'avatar' picture, I am not of a transcendental Guru appearance. Ah well. Let us know what you think of Google's… Continue

Bank Holiday viral attack

Viral blogging has struck The Gambling Exchange with a disruptive host of new members who picked up the infection from the neighbouring site of The Gambler.

Many had been battering at our digital doors for days, my apologies, I had left the setting at 'private' - well, you would wouldnt you, dont want a lot of members tramping all over our nice tidy pages - and have now swung the lever to PUBLIC, so god knows what happens now.

This is a pilot site to leverage the… Continue

Weekend Sport.

As this is a sports/gambling social network, I thought it would be appropriate to preview this weekends sport.

Snooker kicks off on BBC about 10am.

Middlesbourogh play Man United at about 12.30pm on Sky Sports. Could be interesting and worth watching.

Munster v Leinster 5.15pm SS. Top match. Munster will win. Should be great to watch. Unmissable.

Other sport on as well, but not my cup of tea.

Tomorrow more great sport.

Sportsmen are great citizens

We all go through life meeting people, dropping old acquaintances, losing touch with the odd friend or family member, picking up with some of them, and occasionally finding a real buddy. In the sporting world, which I take to include players as well as spectators and active gamblers, this is all too true.

I was privileged today to chew over the swings and roundabouts of Life with that sportsman and great citizen The Gambler, John '2E' Tuohy, at his riverside retreat on the banks of… Continue

More about John Tuohy, the Gambler

Interview with a Layer

John Tuohy

This week Mark hooked-up with the legendary John Tuohy, who writes his own successful and sometimes satirical blog called The Gambler – ‘A Year in The Life of an Online Gambler’ which details his exploits trading on Betfair.

Why be a layer? I prefer to look at the activity as ‘trading’ as against being pigeonholed into a backer or layer. This gives more options from a psychological perspective and my favoured option preferably is… Continue
